Well, like the article states, there's a lot of context that goes into St Patrick's day, and a lot of that concerns the dark history of St Patrick's Day and Ireland in general. It also is about how you're dressing "Irish." Are you throwing on something green and plaid and calling it a day? Or are you dressing "stereotypically" irish with a kilt, bagpipes, etc. Nevertheless, thinking critically and doing your research about a costume is always the best route to go, and this article is amazing in highlighting some key things to remember about what constitutes as cultural appropriation.
